Samurai Sword Clay Tempered Katana Model #1

Ronin Katana's Model #1 is a visually striking katana. Forged from 1045 steel, differentially hardened, and clay tempered, the hardened edge stays sharp and the spine of the blade remains flexible to reduce the likelihood of it breaking upon impact when in use. The blade also has a prominent hamon (temper line) and is secured to the handle with two pins.

The koshirae (fittings) on this katana are made from zinc alloy, painted black with gold details. The circular tsuba (guard) has a beautiful dragon motif and the kashira (pommel cap) has ornate carvings. The fuchi (hilt collar) and menuki (decorative hilt ornaments) has the same color concept to match the overall design of the katana.

The tsuka is covered with genuine black same (rayskin) and the tight tsukamaki uses black cotton ito. The design of this eye-catching katana is completed with the red lacquered saya (scabbard) and black cotton sageo (carrying cord).
