Samurai Sword Clay Tempered Katana Model #11

This hand forged katana is Ronin Katana's Model #11 made from 1045 steel, differentially hardened, and clay tempered to produce a hardened edge that stays sharp while maintaining a flexible spine to reduce the likelihood of the sword breaking upon impact. Inadvertently, it also results in a hamon (temper line) that is often sought after for aesthetic's purpose. The blade is secured to the tsuka (handle) with double pins.

This beautiful katana is equipped with zinc alloy koshirae (fittings) that are detailed in black and gold. The tsuba (guard) even has samurai motifs on it, giving it a formidable appearance. Covered with real same (rayskin), the tsuka is wrapped tightly using cotton ito (handle wrap). It also comes with a black lacquered saya (scabbard) and cotton sageo (carrying cord).
