Samurai Sword Clay Tempered Katana Model #8

Ronin Katana's Model #8 is a monochromatic piece with the exception of the gold details on the sword fittings. This distinguished looking sword has a blade forged from 1045 steel, differentially hardened, and clay tempered to ensure it has a hardened edge that stays sharp while remaining flexible at the spine. The blade is secured to the handle with double pins.

Featuring zinc alloy koshirae (fittings), parts of the tsuba (guard), fuchi (hilt collar), kashira (pommel cap), and menuki (decorative ornaments) are detailed in gold. The circular tsuba also has elaborate engravings that depict a warrior and dragon. The tsuka (handle) of the sword is first covered with genuine white same (rayskin) and the tight tsukamaki uses black cotton ito (handle wrap). The overall look of this katana is finished with a black glossy lacquered saya (scabbard) and cotton sageo (carrying cord).
