Samurai Sword Tanto Kobuse Blade Rayskin Saya

The Tanto was a reflection of the samurai's soul; these warriors never went anywhere without them. This functional, combat-styled replica of a short Tanto dagger features a proper handguard for defense. It's forged out of gyaku-kobuse, two types of steel, and consists of 1095-high carbon steel. It's been folded 13 times, resulting in 8192 visible Damascus Steel-like layers. The blade is full tang and double-pegged for security, featuring proper clay temper to host a genuine hamon and a much harder edge.

The steel, heat treated, quenched, and hazuya stone polished, provides an ideal hardness and shine. The handle is wrapped by silk tsuka-maki atop real rayskin, while the scabbard is hardwood and lacquered, covered with rayskin. The disassemblable fittings are made of brass and copper, representing a Japanese dragon motif to symbolize bravery and courage.
