Shirasaya Tanto Clay Tempered Red Wood Saya&Handle

This is a replica of a Japanese Tanto blade, used as a knife by the legendary Samurai warriors. They carried them in everyday life and on the battlefields. It comes in a shira-saya format, making it without a handguard, and can be completely protected from rust and corrosion inside its scabbard. Its metal is crafted from sturdy 1095 high carbon steel and has been traditionally clay-tempered to produce a genuine hamon and a harder cutting edge.

This Tanto is full-tang and double-pegged for added stability. The blade has been polished by a hazuya stone for a mirror-like shine. The handle and scabbard are made of beautiful African rosewood, enriched with real buffalo horns. Its fittings are made of brass and can be fully assembled or disassembled for maintenance.
