Hanwei Yari T10 High-Carbon Steel

The Yari, a crucial battlefield weapon for the Samurai during feudal Japan, required skillful maneuvering owing to its size and length. This piece takes inspiration from the su-yari or "straight-spear" design. The blade, from Hanwei, is forged in T10 high-carbon steel, possessing a double-edged, triangulated design with a deep fuller on the flat side. Differential tempering generates a clear hamon on each edge, and the elongated tangs facilitate shock absorption.

This Yari has an ebu (shaft) enveloped in deep black lacquer, with a flattened side at the bottom for blade orientation. The one-piece staff design enhances durability. Unlike the Hanwei SH2152 Yari, this model features a shorter 11" blade for swift movements. The addition of a rattan-wrapped section at the upper grip renders this piece an aesthetically captivating addition to any collection.
