Shirasaya Katana San Mai Steel Sword Tomoe Motif

This Tomoe Motif Sanmai Steel Katana was designed by Matthew Jensen for a comprehensive performance review. Forged from folded laminated sanmai steel, the blade is differentially hardened, clay tempered, and polished to reveal a suguha (straight) hamon and folded grains. Combined with its genuine rayskin inlay, tsukamaki with hishigami using artificial silk tsuka-ito (handle wrap), and blackened iron tsuba (guard) with Tomoe-mon motif, the look of this katana is completed with a lacquered matte black saya (scabbard) fully wrapped in rattan.
