Tourney Hand and a Half Knightly Sword – Blunt

The Tourney Series Medieval Sparring Sword by Kingston Arms is a close recreation of the renowned Oakeshott Type XVIIIa.4 sword, modified for reenactment and stage use. Designed for a 14th to mid-15th century man of war, this sword stands out on the battlefield.

Built with durability in mind, these swords feature a thru-tang handle construction, peened thru-tang stainless steel pommel and guard, and a 2mm rounded edge thickness, ensuring their effectiveness in combat. The cord-wrapped leather grip offers a comfortable and secure hold, designed with an oval cross-section and slight barrel shape to minimize fatigue. The blade is made from 9260 high carbon spring steel, tempered to approximately 50 Hrc for longevity.

Notably, the guard incorporates the King-Peen system, which prevents loosening over time without compromising the hilt's strength. The pommel is pressed into place and hot peened, resulting in a sword that resonates with a distinct ringing sound upon impact. Each sword comes with a wood core and leather-wrapped scabbard, finished with a stainless chape.
