Nodachi Red Blade Samurai Damascus Steel Sword

The Samurai warriors of Japan used a Nodachi, a two-handed, single-edged sword with a very long handle and massive blade, facilitating powerful slashing strikes against mounted and armored enemies. This is a replica of a Nodachi, known as Odachi, painstakingly handcrafted using 1095 high carbon steel, known for its resilience. To enhance its appeal, it has been polished for a brighter shine and quenched to achieve optimal hardness.

The blade is full-tang with two pegs, adding to its security. It has a bohi (groove) to minimize its overall weight and to produce a tachikaze (sound of a perfect swing). The massive handle features a rayskin under a tsuka-maki wrap, enabling a firm grip. The scabbard is made of hardwood with a shiny gloss finish. The fittings are composed of alloy and brass, showcasing a Japanese lion pattern - a symbol of power. The entire assembly can be easily disassembled for maintenance purposes.
