Iaito Training Katana 1060 Carbon Steel Sword Oil Quenched Dragon Koshirae

This Iaito sword is a practice tool designed to hone samurai Katana stances, sheathing/unsheathing methods, and attack/defense techniques. Despite a safe, blunted and unsharpened edge, it still provides effective practice. Made from 1060 high-carbon steel, it features a maru (single steel) lamination. For added shine and perfect hardness, it's stone-polished traditionally with hazuya stone and quenched with oil.

The blade is double-pegged for added stability and boasts bohi (grooves) on each side. These create tachikaze (swing sound) feedback and reduce the overall weight. The handle is wrapped in traditional silk hineri-maki (cord wrap) over a rough rayskin material. Its scabbard is hardwood, polished to a shiny, visually attractive gloss.

Every fitting on this sword is crafted from alloy, brass, and copper, each piece enriched with the imagery of the Japanese Dragon, an emblem of strength and courage. Ideal for dojo practitioners, the sword comes with a free storage bag. It can also be sharpened and used for cutting light targets.
