Unokubi-Zukuri SX105V Steel Katana

As expected, Shadow Dancer's Unokubi Zukuri Katana has a cormorant neck blade, starting off like a shinogi zukuri blade at the tsuba but featuring a hi along the ridge. This shape is a variation of the Kanmuri-Otoshi style which was revived in shinshinto times.

Forged from the brand new durable SX105V Steel, differentially hardened, clay tempered, and hand polished, the blade has a beautiful midare hamon and features a bohi to reduce the overall weight of the sword while improving its point of balance. The blade is secured to the tsuka with a mekugi.

For its koshirae, it has an iron maru gata (round) tsuba along with alloy fuchi and kashira with ornate motifs. The katana also comes with an alloy menuki and cupronickel seppa and habaki. The Haichi style tsuka is first inlaid with white genuine rayskin held in place with artificial silk ito. The katana is sheathed in an oil lacquered saya mounted with brass shitodome that prevents the thick sageo from fraying.
