Samurai Sword 1095 Carbon Steel Sword Unokubi Zukuri Leather Straps

This Katana sword is based on the weapon used by legendary samurai of Japan. It is made using a maru, or single steel, method and constructed from 1095 high carbon steel. This has been heat-treated, water-quenched, and polished with a hazuya stone for a mirror finish. It is traditionally clay-tempered to produce a much harder edge, including a genuine hamon temper line.

The Katana is a full-tang, boasting two sets of pegs for added stability and a bohi, or groove, which reduces weight and creates a tachikaze, or sound feedback, when slashing. Its blade is of unokubi-zukuri, or blade shape, design that adds impact on the target after impact. The handle is wooden, wrapped in rough rayskin underneath a tight and smooth hineri-maki, or cord style, wrap made out of leather. The scabbard is constructed of hardwood and also wrapped in leather. The fittings blend iron, copper, and brass and the entire setup can be completely assembled or disassembled.
